DT Day with Sue

It is my Design Team Day at Meljens today and I decided to share with you a neat card I made for a friend. These cards are the newest craze and it was really fun to make!

For this baby image I actually used a pre-coloured image called: Pick Me Up
These precoloured images are wonderful to use if you are short on time or just want to use something that is perfect!

Have a look at all the great images Meljens offers including the precoloured ones:
Have a great day!

Susan's DT Day

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today is my DT Day at Meljen's Design and I'm going to share a new card with you.

For this card I used the wonderful Frog In My Pocket that you can find at Meljen's Designs. I had a lot of fun coloring this little guy and then decoupaging him. I colored him with my Copic markers. I colored him with dots and then I used the Colorless Blender to add additional dots. I love coloring this way. I think it adds a lot of texture!  I have had that pocket die cut for a long time too and I've been waiting to use it!! So, I used my little pocket die and added the sentiment. I inked around the pieces of white paper and I added the twine. I added the blue gems.

Copic:
  • Pocket: B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
  • Frog: YG03, YG07, YG97, 0
  • Worm: R00, R12, E95, 0
  • Cheeks: R20, R21, R22

DT-day with Céline

It's something I made last year but still like really much, because it shows how versatile Meljen's Designs images are. They're not only perfect for cards or scrapbooking but you can also make the cutest home-decorations with it.
I made this frame with the image "Little Bird's Song" and it gives me a happy feeling cause it says "It's springtime" all over :)

I've decorated the frame with some straw and little eggs, put some flowers on it, and ready! A selfmade home decoration.
I hope this gives you the inspiration to make a lovely home decoration for your own home! So hop on over to the digital shop of Meljen's Designs and I'm sure you'll find an image you can use to make your own home decoration :)
Until next time!!
Hugs!

An Inlinkz Tutorial

Playing along in our challenges is a lot of fun and can be very rewarding!  You can win two free images just by playing along.  One of the responses we most often hear is “I can’t play along because I don’t have a blog!”  That is not true.  Having a blog does make it a little easier, but is definitely not necessary.  I didn’t have a blog for quite some time and played along in the Meljen’s Designs challenges.  This tutorial will show you the steps for linking your project even if you do not have a blog.

Step One:

Upload your photo to a photo hosting site.  This could be your blog, Flickr, Photobucket, an online gallery such as Splitcoast Stampers, or other available sites.  You will be required to create an account but it will be free and easy.  (Please be sure to do a little research before choosing a photo hosting site.  I have used the above-mentioned sites, but many exist.)  I have also discovered that you can upload your photo to your Facebook timeline and use that to link to a challenge.  The photo must be on your personal page.  You cannot link to a photo that has been posted in a group or on a public page.

Step two:

Once your photo is uploaded to the site of your choice, click on the photo.  Each photo hosting site is a little different, but the result should be the same.

This is an example from my Flickr account.  This card was the first one I entered in a Meljen’s Challenge. =)  Since I didn’t have a blog, I used the caption section to write my “post”.  Right click on the URL in the address window.  Then click copy.  You will use this text to link to your project in the challenge.

If you are using a blog post to link to the challenge, click on the title of the post before copying the URL from the address window.  This will ensure that the link is to your specific post instead of your entire blog.

Step Three:

Now it is time to link your project to the challenge.  Click on the button on the challenge post that says “Add your link”.  After clicking the link you are directed to this page.

I know…it looks a little scary, but it is SUPER easy!  Right click in the field labeled “Link”.  Click Paste.

Once you click paste, the URL for your picture will be inserted.

You only need to do a couple more things and you are finished!

Select the picture you want to show as your thumbnail in the link widget.  Change the field labeled “Link title” if you would like something different to show.  I usually change it to my name.  Enter your email address if Inlinkz didn’t fill it in for you.  Then click done!  Inlinkz will give you a choice to create another link or to return to the page you linked to.

That’s all there is to linking a project with or without a blog.  I hope to see you play in our challenges soon!

Design Team Share Day with Barb

Hello everyone, Barb here. When I started thinking about what I wanted to share for the month of April, the little poem, April Showers Brings May Flowers, kept going through my mind. So, I decided to share a card I created last year, featuring the adorable Little Umbrella Boy.

I love how the rain drops are hitting his umbrella. I created a dimensional element with the umbrella. I printed several and cut them out. Then, I glued them all together and added patterned paper on top. I went around the entire piece with a black marker to cover the white sides and to help create the shadow illusion. It's almost like chipboard. This way the umbrella a little lift, but does not have the height that would come from using dimensional adhesive or foam tape.

Even though many of us are welcoming Spring, we still need a few showers so we can have beautiful May flowers!

There are many more digital stamps for your Spring projects in the Shop, just click HERE. And as always, please share your creations with all of us on our Facebook Fan Page. We love to see what you create.

To view a supply list, as well as more details about this card, buzz on over to my blog HERE. Thanks for visiting with me today!

Until next time...
